Inclusive design: how and why

Valeria Kurmak infects with the idea of changing the world through interfaces. She easily tells how it specialists, having certain knowledge, can exclude or, on the contrary, include a person in the everyday world of instant messengers, banking, and other digital services that are important for the independent life of every adult.
In 2016, after conducting the largest research on people with disabilities in Russia for Sberbank, she wrote a guide on adapting bank branches, recommendations for service. In 2020, her digital product design leadership won the CX Awards.
While working at the bank, Valeria developed products for people with disabilities, for example, a telecom tariff for people with hearing and vision impairments, introduced accessibility into the development processes of Sberbank Online, which today is the most affordable digital product in Russia.
Sincerely considering accessibility as a necessary part of the modern digital world, she willingly shares information and teaches the design of digital accessibility for students of the British Higher School of Art and Design and BangBangEducation, talks about the current agenda and her personal experience on the Telegram channel "No Exception" and, together with the team, created the School of Digital Accessibility where he trains designers and developers.
